Flight from Texas
From Texas the best flights are to Milan. From San Antonio and Austin, it is possible that there will be two stops as there are fewer flight paths to Milan. From Houston and Dallas there are more flight paths to Milan.
Flight from Washington, D.C.
From Washington, D.C. there are many flight options. The most common international flight path is to Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP) or Linate (LIN). If flying into Milan Malpensa Airport you will take the Malpensa Express train located inside the airport to Milan Central Station (Milano Centrale). From there you will take the take a high speed train to Verona.
Alternatively, Lufthansa in partnership with United Airlines has a flight to Verona with a layovers in several of the major cities in Germany.
Train from Milan Airport
If flying into Milan Malpensa Airport you will take the Malpensa Express train located inside the airport to Milan Central Station (Milano Centrale). From there you will take the take a high speed train to Verona. The train options are Trenitalia and Italo. They are both equal in quality and price so you can coordinate which train will work best for your schedule.
Our recommendation is to wait until you are on the express train from MXP to Milan Central Station to purchase your high speed train ticket to Verona. This ensures you do not miss the train in the event that there are delays in the airport. Tickets can be purchased online or in person at kiosks or ticket counters in the station.
Rental Cars
Since our wedding will take place in the countryside of Verona, we encourage our out of town guest to rent a car. For guest coming from the United States an International Driver’s Permit (IDP) is required. While most rental car companies will not ask for this, Italian authorities can fine you if a driving incident occurs and you are without it.
